VersionEye is currently tracking ~500K open source libraries. Specially meta information about these software packages, such as version, license, description and so on. The VersionEye database is accessible via the search field on the landing page.
You can follow each software package by clicking on the “Follow” button. As soon a new version of the software packages comes out you will receive an email notification from VersionEye. Don’t worry. It’s not an email bomb 🙂 If you follow many packages and more than 1 of them has new releases for today, VersionEye will send you only 1 single email with a summary.
All these notifications are now available on the VersionEye page as well. There is a new menu “Notifications”. It shows shows the 30 newest notifications for you.
The same information is available as RSS feed as well. Just click the RSS icon on the right site to get this information as RSS. If you don’t like emails you have now 2 more options to get notified about new releases of your software packages 🙂
