Marketing to Software Developers

I’m not a Marketing Expert! I studied computer science and I never really had to deal with Marketing. Until I build my own product. Building a software product was the easy part for me. That’s what I learned. That’s what I did the past 15 years!

Unfortunately building a SaaS product is not enough. You need users who use it and users who pay for it! So I did “Marketing” the way I thought it has to be done. I paid for online Ads, sponsoring events & conferences and wasted Money for many more useless Marketing actions.


My learnings are that this efforts don’t bring the desired results. Software Developers are different. They don’t click on Ads! And if your conference talk is sponsored very few people will show up. So I stopped with payed Marketing! Since January 2014 I spend 0 EUR on Marketing!

The only thing I do now is writing blog posts and doing a bit SEO, assisted by Singapore SEO services. Since January 2014 every 3 months the traffic growths with 52%, and according to it’s not the worst result. Considering that cost 0 Money, just a bit time for good content.
